Dead or Alive 5: Finally Stepping Up As A Fighting Game?

I've stumbled upon this gameplay video of Dead or Alive 5. Although I'm a fighting game enthusiast, Dead or Alive series is something I looked down upon and really didn't care about for all these years. I'd toyed around a little bit with Dead or Alive 1 and 2 but after realizing that the fighting gameplay elements were wack and the game is nothing but mashfest and boobs, I had never touched it again. Then the next DOA games came out on Xbox and Xbox360, consoles that I didn't have and might never obtain ever. So upon seeing this vid, it seems that Dead or Alive 5 is starting to look good. I also like the fact that it is not Xbox360 exclusive anymore.
 
However, the big question remains: Will this game become competitive? Or another brain-dead button-mashing game again? I guess we'll have to wait and see.
