You can't miss it - the new Nokia phone model that is always advertised by Vic Sotto in TV and billboard ads (the same phone that was introduced in Eat Bulaga a few weeks ago). These are the first Nokia handsets to ever have the Dual SIM feature here in the Philippines, although not the first ones in the world.
Last year, Nokia already released C2 and C1-00 in other countries but these models didn't make it in our country though.

No worries though. The Nokia C2-00 packs a punch compared to its predecessors. It has a MicroSD support up to a whopping 32 GB storage. Some of the usual features are music player (supports MP3, AAC, WMA, WAV, M4A, AMR, and MIDI), video playback (supports MPEG-4, H.263, WMV, and 3GPP), 0.3 MP camera, FM Radio, internet browsing, bluetooth connectivity among others. The key feature of this phone aside from being a Dual SIM phone is the Easy Swap feature which is the first of its kind. Aside from usual internal SIM slot, there's an external SIM slot on its side which lets you swap SIM cards on the go without turning the phone off! Yes that's right. That a pretty nifty feature especially for those who share their phones with different members of the family or friends. Also good for playboys who have a girlfriend for every phone number that they have (I'm not encouraging that practice though).
I'm a bit disappointed on the camera resolution though. They could have upped the resolution to at least 1 MP but nevertheless, the package looks great. All of these for just €45 (that would be like P2700+). Wow.
All these features are pretty good but what beats me is why Nokia is always left out in terms of innovation. Although the Easy Swap feature is something new, the dual sim feature was already included in other phone models ages ago. My friend owns a Samsung C5212, a dual sim model which he bought about 2 years ago, and I'm sure some earlier models have already incorporated this before. Oh well, it's better late than never, as they say.
I'm really a fan of these phones because they're cheap (yeah I know I'm a cheapskate) and now I'm pretty excited about this and I've already added this to my wishlist. You may ask "why don't you just buy an iPhone instead?". My primary reason is, of course, I don't have the extra money to waste on the fancier, higher end phones. Besides, I'm the kind of guy who only buys what I need. For example, if I ONLY need a gadget which lets me listen to my MP3s, I'll buy an iPod shuffle or any other MP3 player instead of an iPod 4G. Of course, the iPod 4G gives a whole bunch of other features aside from listening to music and I'm sure as hell to exploit every feature and function that it can offer if I could get my hands on it but as I've mentioned, as of now I don't have the extra money to waste on it. Of course, given the better financial status, I'll definitely buy one but for now, I can only dream.
Back to topic though. If you want to check all the specs of this cellphone, check here. I'll probably visit Cyberzone Megamall this weekend to check its pricing here in the Philippines. After a month or two, I'll definitely buy this and will write again on this blog after I unbox it and will let you know my first impressions of it.
